Slide notes:On this slide is a table that includes the types of quality measures and the levels at which quality is measuredindividual, department, organizationacross the columns. Some of the structural measures are whether individuals are professionally certified, whether departments have appropriate staffing, and whether an organization has various licensures. Process measures are things like performance evaluation of individuals, monitoring of their productivity, and reviewing factors such as their performance indicators at the department level, how much screening they have done, and their stated adherence to guidelines. Outcomes measure results. Do patients do better on the basis of the care they receive? Do they achieve better health? Its important to measure things like practice profiles of individuals errors at departmental levels and mortality rates and quality sanctions at organizational levels. 6
