Slide notes:Most U.S. hospitals are privately funded community hospitals that offer acute care and are not affiliated with the federal, state, or local governments. The United States also has a substantial number of psychiatric hospitals and hospitals that are funded by the federal government. For patients who must stay in a hospital for more than 25 days, long-term care hospitals and facilities can accommodate their needs. 20
