Slide notes:The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has published a summary of the HIPAA Security Rule that lays out some general guidelines. The first is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of all protected health information that covered entities create, receive, maintain, or transmit. The second general requirement is that covered entities must try to anticipate threats to the security and integrity of the information, and protect against them. Third, covered entities must protect against impermissible uses or disclosures of protected information. Fourth, covered entities must ensure employee compliance with HIPAA regulations . 15
