Slide notes:TJC performs two functions to keep patients safe. Achieving accreditation signifies that an organization meets TJCs standards for patient care. A ccreditation is earned by an entire health care organization, such as a hospital or a long term care facility. Each organization accredited by TJC has to follow a procedure manual customized for that type of organization. Sample topics in the manual include emergency management, environment of care, human resources, and infection prevention and control. 9
