Two of these are the United Kingdom and Canada; however, the methods that these countries employ to deliver and finance health care services is quite different from how it is done in the U.S. Both the United Kingdom and Canada fund basic health care, primarily through general taxation. However, the United Kingdom has a multi-payor system that includes private payors, while Canada has a single-payor in each province and territory, and relies little on a private system. 7
