Slide notes:Decision-making about any issue is difficult when people do not have the information they need. In terms of health care, a good resource for information is the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, or AHRQ. AHRQs mission is to produce evidence to make health care safer, higher quality, more accessible, equitable, and affordable, and to work within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and with other partners to make sure that the evidence is understood and used. The efforts of AHRQ target all stakeholders in the health care system, including patients, individual health care providers, hospitals, insurers, policy makers at all government levels, and medical schools. 8
