Slide notes:EHRs do have some disadvantages. The cost of installation, maintenance, and upgrading EHRs can be quite substantial. Implementation of an EHR system requires training, and also is often associated with changes in clinical workflows. There is also often a lack of interoperability between EHRs that are supplied by different vendors. And clinicians sometimes feel that the presence of the EHR in the examination room de-personalizes the doctor-patient relationship. 5
